The High Commission also performs notarial functions like attestation of academic certificates, marriage and birth certificates issued in India, power of attorney and other such documents executed by Indian citizens in India and Mozambique. The documents to be attested must be presented in original with a photocopy. The power of attorney and affidavits should be signed before the Consular officer, who will verify and satisfy himself about the identity of the executants/deponent from his passport. A Miscellaneous form may be filled in and submitted along with the original passport and a photocopy, two passport size of photographs of the applicant for this purpose.
Guide Lines for Attestation of documents:
1)All certificates/documents issued in India to be submitted to the High Commission for attestation should be got first attested in India by the Agencies detailed below:
Authentication by the concerned State Government authorities
Attestation by Consular Section of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India (Address: Ground Floor, Patiala House, Tilak Marg, New Delhi)
2)All certificates/documents issued in Mozambique to be submitted to the High Commission for attestation should be first got attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Cooperation, Government of the Republic of Mozambique.
